HYDERABAD: Dwellers of Fatima Jinnah Colony Kachi Abadi near Mehr Ali Society of Latifabad on Friday accused Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) workers of vandalism, extortion and occupying their lands with a support of PPP member of provincial assembly (MPA).
Reportedly, the dwellers held a demonstration in front of local press club, and further accused PPP workers including Waheed Shah, Adnan Shah, Rashid Raza and Ali Rana electricity theft using Kunda (direct connection) with a monthly bribe of Rs1000 being given to the Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) officials.
Besides, they also informed the media that one of the PPP workers demanded Rs 50,000 as Bhatta from a resident Muhammad Qasim, and upon refusing to pay, he was tortured with stones pelting. The protesters appealed to the PPP leadership and Hyderabad Senior Superintendent of Police (PPP) for taking a stern action against the culprits, and launch a fair inquiry into the wrongdoings.
