ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the disqualification reference filed by Speaker National Assembly against PTI Chairman Imran Khan till March 16.
A five-member bench headed by Chief Election Commission (EC) Sardar Raza Khan has resumed the hearing. During the course of hearing, the counsel of PML-N, Akram Shaikh, argued that PTI Chairman Imran Khan misleads the ECP regarding the Bani Gala land and did not privy EC pertaining to money trail. He informed the ECP that Imran Khan has used two CNIC at different times adding that he, Imran Khan, is not Sadiq and Ameen.
The PML-N counsel informed the ECP that allegation leveled in two new petitions filed by the PML-N, which were not include in the references submitted by speaker NA. To this, ECP remarked that PTI has challenged ECP’s hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC) and after IHC’s verdict ECP will take any decision in this regard.
